STEP 2: Define core-wide parameters.

In the pop-up modal select the following core-wide discount parameters (Figure 3):

  • If discount applies per person or per lab (research group)

    • Discount per User – discount applies to every user and a user can reach a threshold only accumulating hours on their name.

    • Discount per Lab – reservations made by each of the lab members count against reaching the set threshold

  • If discount threshold is determined by hours scheduled or money spent

    • Discount per hours reserved – threshold is determined by number of hours

    • Discount by money spent – threshold is determined by amount of money spent

  • If discount resets on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis

STEP 3: Create a new discount.

Now, click on Create a New Discount Group. (Figure 4)

Then, click Continue to go to the next screen.

STEP 4: Select the equipment to include in the discount group.

Next, select the equipment you'd like to include in this group; one instrument can belong to only one discount group. Create your discount groups to allow discounts on individual resources or group of equipment. You can choose to allow different discounts on different instruments or groups of instruments in your facility. (Figure 6)

Figure 6: Select the equipment.

Figure 6: Select the equipment.

Reservations made on instruments in the same discount group count towards reaching a threshold and reservations exceeding the threshold qualify for discount.

Then, click Continue to go to the next screen.

STEP 5: Select price classes and availabilities.

Now, select the price classes (prices) and availabilities (usages) the discount should apply to. You can select which price types get certain discount and exclude others. You can also select the usages that are qualified for a discount. Only reservations booked during those usages will count towards reaching the discount threshold. (Figure 7)

Then, click Continue to go to the next screen.

STEP 6: Define the discount threshold.

Finally, determine discount thresholds and rates. (Figure 8)

Figure 8: Determine the threshold.

Figure 8: Determine the threshold.

Here, you can set up multiple thresholds, and set up percentage discount rate within a threshold. Additionally, you may define advanced discount rates for various price types or availabilities

The discount with the determined rate is applied only to reservations that exceed the threshold. There could be multiple thresholds. For example (as illustrated in Figure 8 above):

  • 0 – 10 hours:10% discount for the first 10 hours, regardless of the total amount of hours reached by the end of the discount period.

  • 10 – 200 hours: 20% discount on any reservation after 10 hours and before 20 hours

  • 20 > hours: 30% discount on any reservation after 20 hours until the end of the discount period

STEP 7: Make the discount active.

Once you create your new discount group, make sure you check it as Active. A warning icon will indicate any issues with your discount group and you will not be allowed to activate it until you fix the issues. (Figure 9)

Figure 9: Turn the discount to activate to begin using the discount. An error icon will display if there are errors.
