How do i detach an invoice from a billing event?
Detaching an invoice allows you to remove an invoice from a billing event and manually add it to a new billing event, when ready.
Institution administration have oversight over this process and determine whether or not core managers have the ability to detach invoices from billing events.
Note: An invoice may NOT be detached from a billing event if any the following criteria apply:
An invoice has been marked Paid or Partially Paid.
The billing event has a status of File Sent, which indicates that all invoices on that billing event have already been sent to an institutional ERP for final processing.
STEP 1: Find the appropriate invoice.
From the Billing tab, view a list of existing billing events that have a status of either "Billing Initialized" or "Draft", and find the billing event that contains the invoice(s) you would like to remove. Click on the appropriate Invoices link to bring up a list of all invoices on that billing event. (Figure 1)
STEP 2: Open the invoice.
Open the online version of the invoice you wish to detach by selecting the magnifying glass icon on the far right. (Figure 2)

STEP 3: Click to detach invoice.
Select the Detach Invoice icon at the top of the invoice. (Figure 3)
A pop-up box will display.
STEP 4: Add notes, if desired.
You may add any appropriate notes, if desired. Any notes you type in this box will also be displayed in the "Core Notes" section at the bottom of the invoice. (Figure 4)
Once an invoice has been detached, the Detach Invoice icon will be replaced by text that identifies this invoice as being detached from its original billing event. (Figure 5)
