How do I manage protocol expiration?
Once a protocol reaches its expiration date, it will no longer be available for selection on a service request or animal order. Its status will automatically change to Expired in the core and institutional protocol list view and its date color will change to red. (Figure 1)
iLab provides two automated email notifications as reminders to help PIs, protocol administrators and core facility staff track a protocol’s expiration status:
A first email reminder is sent two weeks before the protocol is due to expire. At the two week mark, all protocol collaborators are encouraged to close out any existing services and projects that reference this protocol and to also be mindful that any significant projects that may reference this protocol should likely not be started.
- A second email notification is sent the day after the protocol expires.
