What General information do I need to create a new schedule?

To create a new schedule, you first should click on the Schedule Equipment tab on the core's homepage, and then More > Add Schedule. (Figure 1)

The first tab you will encounter when setting up or editing a piece of equipment is the General Settings tab. (Figure 2)

Basic Information

In this section, enter the general resource name and a basic description of the resource of instrument. You may include links, images, and video that customers can view when reviewing your core’s list of resources (Figure 3)

Also, indicate how the resource should be categorized (for example, Microscopes,  Sequencers, etc…), and what the time zone resource is in for booking purposes. (Figure 4) 650

Lastly, you may add special instructions for users, if you desire. This can include equipment instructions, training instructions/requirements, or anything else you would like customers to know when viewing the schedule. (Figure 5) 651

Multiple Instances

In this section, you may enable scheduling of multiple instances of the same equipment or resource (e.g. three confocal microscopes) on calendars that will always be viewable with each other. Multiple instances (shown in the Equipment calendar Multi View) enable customers to schedule concurrent events on the discrete instances.(Figure 6)

Custom Forms

In this section, you may indicate if an already configured custom form should display when customers are reserving time on the resource.  You may also select a specific custom form to display when staff are scheduling maintenance reservations. (Figure 7)
